Pictures of Where the Filming Takes Place

The first picture is of the front of the house. This is what the robbers are looking at in the beginning and it is where the footage takes place.

The second picture is of the utility room. This is where the robbers enter the house.

The third picture is of the tv room. This is where the robbers look through the DVDs.

The fourth picture is of the driveway. This is where they stand at the very beginning of the film.

The fifth picture is of the garden. This is used in our film as a point of view shot.

The sixth picture is of the other part of the kitchen. This is where one of the robbers walks to get to the fridge. The fridge is open. I did this so it is easy for readers to identify it.

The seventh picture is of the side of the house where one of the robber climbs over the gate. This is the view from him climbing to the other side of the gate.

The eighth picture is of the side of the house. This is before the robber has attempted climbing the gate.

The ninth picture is of part of the kitchen. This is what the robbers see when they enter the kitchen.

Organising the 2 Minute Opening Sequence

This is the new storyboard. This is what the final film uses.

This is the old story board. We decided to change it.

The Script

On Saturday 16th January Claudia and I filmed our opening sequence and it took a lot longer then we thought. We planned on filming last week but Claudia had trouble getting to my house because of the snow and icy roads, I went along and filmed the outside scenes without Claudia even though i was the one who was meant to be filming. We had to improvise because the two boys we were meant to use let us down last minute and so I had to use my brother and his friend. We manage to film most of the outside scenes without me, but was hard because of the snow. A few days later we were able to film the whole thing but again had to change the two actors because my brother and his friend were busy doing something else. We managed to find another two actors and we were able to film. Filming took about 2-3 hours this was a lot longer than we anticipated because we had to film from every angle and make sure we got the whole scene in the camera shot. We had to film the very first part about 3 or 4 times because one of the actors kept moving out of the shot. We need to redo the opening scene because have tried to cut some footage and put it together and it does not match. The other scene that took the longest was the gate scene because one of the boys had to climb over the top to unlock the door and let the other guy in, we had to film this from the centre, left, right, above, below etc just to get the right shot and cut it so our film flows. We changed a few lines of the script while we were filming because things fitted better with the film, the scene that most changed was the inside scene of the guys looking through all the owners DVD's because we had to get the right words to fit what the actors were doing. Filming our opening sequence was a lot more work then we thought because of how much footage you have to film to get the right shot and angle for the film to work. We've got about 25 minutes of filming with lots of mistakes that we need to cut out. I enjoyed filming because it taught me that detail is a very important aspect of media ad filming films. In the future i think we will plan a lot more in depth e.g. the camera angles and just going to the house and playing around with the camera to see what shot fits best this would of saved a lot of time but we will know this for next time.

I have started creating the music for our film using logic pro, a professional music programme which specialises in the making of music from scratch. It is not finished yet but it is in the style of reggae. I had some help from Max Levene, the maker of the 2 minute film called 'Dealer'.

We also need to create the titles and come up with a name for the film. This may take some time but it will be finished before the deadline.

My Opening Sequence of a Film

There has been another change of plan. It is the same when it comes to describing the characters. Instead of the grabbing everything they can, they are looking for something specific. The audience do not get to find out what they are looking for. There is now no scene of them selling goods on a road.

There has been a change of plan. Claudia and I have now changed the genre of our film to comedy, crime, drama. The films that influence us the most are Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Trainspotting.

Trainspotting Trailer

Our new idea is of two jokers robbing an empty house. Grabbing anything they can find. making jokes along the way. The two characters are complete opposites. One has no intelligence, the other is clever. They are putting all of the stolen objects into a broken, ripped rucksack. Once they have finished grabbing what they can the shot cuts straight into the in the street with a table in front of them. The table is covered with all of the stolen objects seen in the previous scene. There is no one looking to buy off them. While they are desperately trying to find buyers. There will be close up shot of he stolen objects While in the house and on the table.

The genre of our 2 Minute film is British gangster drama. The films that influence us are This is England, Scarface and Green Street.

I have a few ideas on what to film for my 2 minute film. I am hoping to film a 'hoodie' or skinhead giving his 'girl' a kiss and telling her he will 'see her later'. Then there is a close up of him clenching his fist. He climbs over a fence, walks into a house and starts looking for valuables to steal. At this point the camera gives off the affect that there is a victim in the house hiding from him while at the same time following him. He then comes accross somebody in the house and with a instant reaction screams 'oi! give me all your money now!' Then next thing you hear are police sirens. That is where it ends and that is how i would like my 2 mintue film to turn out like. I am also hoping to use music and sound effects.

I am hoping to film the footage within the next few weeks to get it out of the way. Then edit it at a later date.
I will be updating my blog and most importantly this post.

Snatch - Storyboard

This storyboard is for the movie Snatch. The genre of this movie is comedy, crime and thriller. The font of the credits used in Snatch are very bold and stand out to the audience. It shows that the movie is going to be bold and full of action. There is a use of narrative speech in the first 2 minutes. This is to let the audience know what some of the characters are like at the very beginning. The use of these two features makes the audience hooked on the first 2 minutes of the movie.

Vantage Point - Storyboard

This is the storyboard for Vantage Point. The genre of the movie is action, crime, drama and thriller. The font of the credits used in Vantage Point are very bold and stand out. It shows that the movie is going to be bold and full of action. The music used in the background of first 2 minutes of Vantage Point is extremely mysterious and sounds like there is going to be a twist in the movie. The use of these two features makes the audience hooked on the first 2 minutes of the movie.
